Petronella's Gallery and Bookstore

"What I say is, a town isn't a town without a bookstore. It may call itself a town, but unless it's got a bookstore, it knows it's not foolin' a soul." (Neil Gaiman in American Gods). Every town deserves a bookshop and now Lake Tekapo, too, has its own cultural haven. Petronella's Gallery and Bookstore is easy to find in the main street. An eclectic range of new literature and non-fiction sits alongside boutique stationery, stacks of beautiful jigsaw puzzles, homeware and gifts. It’s a match made in heaven brought down to delight locals and travellers alike. Sharron and the amazing Petronella's team are your host and they love to be your guide in this land of books where anything is possible.

DONATE A BOOK THIS CHRISTMAS

We are proud to be a part of this year's Kiwi Christmas Books campaign. All you have to do is come in store or go online and buy a new childrens book. Kiwi Christmas Books is a registered charity that collects donations of brand new books to gift to families who can't afford to buy Christmas presents for their kids, or who struggle to access quality books in general. If you order a book online, please ensure that you state in the order notes that you wish to have the book donated.

There's a big difference between a business that loves books and one that just sells them. This is the kind of small independent store we should all be supporting. Love your work guys
